Getting started

Do I need to install anything?

No. UMBREACH runs in your browser: press Play and you’re in. If you prefer, there’s also a desktop app for Windows.

Can I play alone?

Yes. Every mode can be played against bots, and the training range and tutorial are made for practising on your own.

How do I play with friends?

Go to Online, create a room and share its 5-letter code. Your friends join with the code; bots fill any empty slots. Up to five people per team.

What exactly is the fog of war?

You only see what your team sees: your own line of sight, your teammates’ and your gadgets’. An enemy nobody on your team can see is not shown — online, it isn’t even sent to your device.

Is there ranked play?

Yes. With an account you can queue for ranked: five placement matches, then ranks from Bronze to Diamond, plus an elite rank above them all.

Which operators are available?

The Operators & maps page lists every operator currently in the game, for attack and defense. Some still use provisional art.

Account

Do I need an account?

Yes. Sign up from the game with a username, your email and a password; it takes a minute. The same account works in the browser and in the Windows app.

How do I verify my email?

After signing up we send you an email with a link. Open it within 24 hours and your account is verified. Each link works only once.

I didn’t get the verification email

Check your spam or promotions folder and make sure the address is spelled right. You can ask the game to send a new email (once a minute, up to five per hour).

Can I download or delete my data?

Yes. On your account page you can export your data or delete your account at any time.

Controls

What are the controls on PC?

Move with WASD and aim with the mouse; left click shoots. Shift sprints, C crouches, Space jumps or vaults, E interacts and R reloads. Q uses your signature gadget, F your tactical gadget and G a grenade. Tab shows the scoreboard and M the tactical map. You can change every key in Settings › Controls.

How do I play on a phone?

Turn your phone sideways: the left stick moves, the right stick aims and shoots, and on-screen buttons handle gadgets, reloading, crouching and the rest. Change button size and opacity, or switch to left-handed, in Settings › Controls › Touch controls.

Loading and performance

The game doesn’t load or stays on a black screen

Update your browser and turn on hardware acceleration (in Chrome: Settings › System › Use graphics acceleration when available, then restart Chrome). Close heavy tabs and reload. If it still fails, try another browser or the Windows app. The first load takes a little longer; after that most of the game is cached.

The game runs slowly or the FPS is low

Set Graphics to Performance and lower Render scale in Settings. On laptops, plug in the charger and make sure the browser uses the dedicated graphics card (Windows: Settings › Display › Graphics › High performance).

I have lag or high ping

The beta server is in Europe, so your ping depends on how far away you are. Turn on “Show FPS and ping” in Settings to see it. Use a cable or stay close to your router, and pause downloads or streams. If ping spikes for everyone in a match, tell us on Discord.

Community and safety

How do I report a bug?

Tell us on Discord (link coming soon): what happened, the map and mode, and a screenshot or clip if you have one. Every report helps during the beta.

How do I report a cheater or a toxic player?

In an online match, open the scoreboard (Tab) and press the flag next to the player’s name. Pick a reason — cheating, team kill, disruptive behaviour, away, nickname or abusive language — add details if you want and send it. Our team reviews every report and can suspend accounts.

Is there a Discord?

Yes: Discord (link coming soon). It’s where we post news, collect feedback and bug reports, and find people to play with.

What data do you keep?

Only what the game needs: your account (username and email), match stats and chat, kept for a limited time. Security logs keep IP addresses for up to 90 days. Details in our privacy notice.
