The game

Vision wins rounds

UMBREACH is a top-down 5v5 tactical shooter. Attackers carry a decrypter into one of two vaults; defenders fortify the building and hold. One life per round, first team to four rounds wins.

Fog of war per team

Vision is shared, never global. You see what you and your teammates see — through doors, windows, cameras and fresh holes. Enemies outside your team’s sight don’t exist on your screen.

Destructible walls

Wooden walls, doors, windows and floors splinter under fire and explosives. Defenders barricade and reinforce; attackers make their own doors.

Gadgets that change rounds

Thermal charges, drones, heartbeat sensors, gas, katanas, flamethrowers. Every operator brings one signature gadget plus a tactical kit.

Play instantly

Open it in the browser and you are in, or jump online with friends. Prefer an app? There’s a desktop version for Windows.

Preparation: defenders fortify while attackers pick a spawn. Action: 2:20 to win the round.

How to play

Modes

Standard

5 vs 5, no respawn. Attackers plant the decrypter in vault A or B and protect it for 45 seconds; defenders stop them or defuse. First to 4 rounds, sides swap after 3.

Team Deathmatch

Endless respawns. First team to 100 kills wins, or the leader when the 10 minutes run out. Change operator while dead or inside your zone.

Duel

Mirror 1v1 in a symmetric arena: you against an opponent with your own operator. Instant respawn; first to 6 round wins.

Training range

Pop-up targets from 6 to 40 m, moving targets and a 30-second challenge with your best score per operator.

Tutorial

Step-by-step objectives that tick themselves: movement, camera, stances, aiming low, weapons and gadgets.

Map editor

Build and tweak maps with rooms, doors, props and zones, test them instantly and edit together with your team.

Online: create a room and share its 5-letter code, or join an open one. Bots fill the empty slots. Sign in for ranked.

Under the hood

Features

  • Server-authoritative online

The server runs the match. Your browser only receives what your team can see — no wallhacks to be had.

  • Rooms with friends

Private rooms with a 5-letter code, quick unranked matchmaking and bots to fill any gap.

  • Ranked & career

Account level, operator mastery, credits, medals and seasons. Climb the ladder from Bronze to the top rank.

  • Real destruction

Bullets go through soft walls. Explosives, hammers and blades open new lines of sight mid-round.

  • Barricades & reinforcements

Defenders share barricades and reinforcements to seal doors, windows and walls during preparation.

  • Voiced operators

Every specialist talks back: callouts, quips and a narrator that reads the round for you.

  • Desktop & touch

Mouse and keyboard on PC, a Windows desktop app, and touch controls on phones in landscape.

  • Map editor

A full editor with collaborative sessions: see your teammates’ cursors while you build.

Questions

FAQ

Do I need to install anything?

No. UMBREACH runs in your browser: press Play and you’re in. If you prefer, there’s also a desktop app for Windows.

Do I need an account?

Yes. Sign up from the game with a username, your email and a password; it takes a minute. The same account works in the browser and in the Windows app.

What are the controls on PC?

Move with WASD and aim with the mouse; left click shoots. Shift sprints, C crouches, Space jumps or vaults, E interacts and R reloads. Q uses your signature gadget, F your tactical gadget and G a grenade. Tab shows the scoreboard and M the tactical map. You can change every key in Settings › Controls.

I have lag or high ping

The beta server is in Europe, so your ping depends on how far away you are. Turn on “Show FPS and ping” in Settings to see it. Use a cable or stay close to your router, and pause downloads or streams. If ping spikes for everyone in a match, tell us on Discord.

How do I report a cheater or a toxic player?

In an online match, open the scoreboard (Tab) and press the flag next to the player’s name. Pick a reason — cheating, team kill, disruptive behaviour, away, nickname or abusive language — add details if you want and send it. Our team reviews every report and can suspend accounts.
